Darren Rouse of ProBlogger fame issued a 7 Link Challenge to write a post with 7 links that go to each of these types of posts:

  • Your first post
  • A post you enjoyed writing the most
  • A post which had a great discussion
  • A post on someone else’s blog that you wish you’d written
  • Your most helpful post
  • A post with a title that you are proud of
  • A post that you wish more people had read

While I subscribe to ProBlogger, it was actually Theresa Banta Bradley of BigFishTopDogs.com that brought it to my attention.  (Thanks Theresa and, of course, Darren for the blog post idea!)

Here’s my 7 Link Challenge post…

My first post: I started this blog to take part in a 30-Day Blog Challenge.  The post “Getting To Know You” was my introduction to readers from the group.  As it turned out, I made a lot of new online friends during that time and it was a very rewarding experience.

The post I enjoyed writing: “No Video? No Problem! Get Your YouTube Channel Now” was fun to write.  I had been inspired by a colleague to get a YouTube channel and started researching the idea to see if it would really be worth my time.  All I can say is, WOW… it certainly is worth your time.  This post explained how to do it whether you have videos to share or not.  I didn’t! But I now have lots of friends and subscribers on YouTube now.

Post with a great discussion: While I didn’t really anticipate as many comments as I got on my post “How Much Money Do People Make Online,” it turned out to be quite a discussion.  36 comments may not seem like very many for bloggers such as Darren Rouse, but it broke all records for me.  Normally I respond to most comments but I didn’t on this one.  What I did though was create a new site, “PossibilityWeb.com,” in response to the comments and to help my readers learn how to make more money online – free.

Someone else’s post that I wish I had written: Other than Darren Rouse’s posts, right?…
For a short time I consulted with Dr. Rachna Jain on a community site plan for a client of mine. Rachna is very insightful and full of great ideas.  She  wrote a blog post for the Social Media Examiner a couple of months ago.  I bookmarked it because I enjoyed it so much. Here it is: “7 Ways to Use Psychological Influence With Social Media Content.”  It’s a great read.

My most helpful post: “Got Google Analytics?” I think was my most helpful post.  If you’re not tracking what’s going on with your website or blog, you won’t know how to improve your results.  GA is free and a really great tool.

A title I’m proud of: “Rock Your WordPress Widget World” has to be my favorite title that I came up with just because it’s fun to say and people responded on Twitter about how it was a cool title.

A post I wish more people read: “WordPress. Not Just for Blogs Anymore.” This is a simple post about using WordPress as a content management system (CMS) for full websites. More and more people are changing their sites over to WordPress, but a lot of people are still doubtful that it works as well.  It does work well!

What about you?  Will you take up the challenge on your blog?  If so, don’t forget to come back here and leave a link to your blog post!

Have fun!

P.S. Darren has another challenge coming up and I’ll write about that shortly.
